The highly-anticipated PhilRad New Year’s Run at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York kicked off last night with a show filled with a bevy of Grateful Dead heavy hitters. Bassist Phil Lesh was joined on stage for two lengthy sets and an encore by Joe Russo’s Almost Dead guitarists Scott Metzger and Tom Hamilton, keyboardist Marco Benevento and drummer Joe Russo.

Clay Art Center Workshops Create Mosaic For Port Chester Housing

Port Chester residents created a “Unity Mosaic,” with Clay Art Center in partnership with the Port Chester Housing Authority of Port Chester. Clay Art Center offered free clay workshops to the residents of the Purdy Street, Traverse Street and Weber Drive Housing Developments.

Food Items Donated Before Port Chester Concert

Minutes after the doors opened at The Capitol Theatre on Saturday, a table was heaping with food destined for the Carver Center. The theater asked Blues Traveler fans to bring nonperishable food that will help feed about 600 people monthly through ongoing programs at the nonprofit community center in Port Chester.

Andrew Cuomo’s Task Force on Ending AIDS. Group Sues Over Port Chester Rail Station Accessibility

A group representing disabled citizens and two wheelchair users are suing Metro-North Railroad in an effort to make the Port Chester train station fully accessible, according to LoHud.com. The lawsuit, which was filed Wednesday by The Westchester Independent Living Center, states that wheelchair users are unable to use the northbound platform without having to negotiate four sets of stairs, LoHud.com reported.

Robert J. Green III

Robert Joseph Green III, an information technology manager and a co-winner of a Baltimore Sun holiday cookie contest, died Dec. 19 of multiple myeloma at Gilchrist Hospice Care. The Bel Air resident was 63. Born in Port Chester, N.Y., he was the son of Robert J. Green Jr., an engineer, and Valerie Stuart Green, a homemaker.
